サマルカンドのウルグ・ベク天文台跡 1420年 
1951年の発掘時に、建物のプランが レンガで復原された。
リワーク状の入り口部の奥のヴォールト状の部分が、四分儀後半部の現状屋根である。

The Observatory of Ulugh Bek in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, 1420
When the site was overall excavated in 1951,
the plan of the original building was restored with bricks as its bases.
A long horizontal vaulted part behind the Riwak (gate) is the current roof
of the underground part of the rear half of the quadrant.

太陽光線を取り入れる孔が南側。この建物のほかにも多くの観測儀があったろう。

The diameter of the building is 46 meters and the height 30 meters.
There could have been many other large observation instruments here.
